Learning Landscape Phase I, on the Market St exterior, was substantially completed in Spring/Summer 2025.  Phase II construction, on the Clinton St exterior, is underway.
The Learning Landscape project is grant-funded by New York State Aid for Library Construction, and was designed by CT Male Associates and Studio A Landscape Architecture and Engineering.  Construction is completed by The VMJR Companies of Glens Falls, NY.

Construction of Learning Landscape 2025-2026

Phase l Before

  • The once-beautiful and manicured traditional landscaping installed in 1995 is difficult to maintain and has become overgrown.  It no longer accentuates the building as it once did.

  • Concrete stairs with black railings leading up to a beige brick building entrance, with American flag on a flagpole nearby, surrounded by small bushes and leafless trees under a clear blue sky.

    The significant amount of lawn space on the west side is uneven and without function.  It can not be actively utilized for Library or community activities.
