The Johnstown Public Library is proud to offer a variety of programs & events for all ages. Most programs are offered regularly while other events vary throughout the year. Every single one is free to all who enter the building. There are times that we need to know how many are attending for planning purposes, and thus, require registration. Those are noted below.
We look forward to seeing you at the Library.
Enjoy a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children with music, dancing, singing, and rhymes with Miss B! Designed for families with kids 5 and under. Siblings welcome
We'll do basic exercises and have a little fun. Please call 518-762-8317 to let us know you'll be joining us. It helps us plan, as spots are limited. Register for one or all of the sessions. Thank you!

An expansion of Big Play with the preschooler's development in mind. It is for those kiddos (2 1/2 to 5 years old) who have begun to outgrow our Big Play program, but still enjoy coming to the library to explore and play. Younger ones will be able to attend with their preschool aged sibling.
Listening to stories is one of the first steps in eventually learning to read. Enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, action rhymes, and other activities aimed at building a love of language, books, and reading. *Children are not expected to sit the entire time.
Music provides a fun way to develop early literacy skills in young children. Join Gary VanSlyke for Music Time as he performs children's songs & rhymes, plays various instruments, and shares stories. Geared towards little ones, but all families are invited to join us.
